Common Questions & Issues

Please check this list, as it may contain the answer you're looking for. If not, contact usa below for assistance.

In some cases, HMIS data quality issues may not be evident in the APR, but they can still impact your results in RED. If your results in RED are different than what you expect based on your APR, you should first check the HMIS Data Quality Alert Dashboard (DQAD).

Recommended Action:

Correct any data quality problems that might be impacting your results. If that doesn’t work, or you need help use this link for the CoC Renewal Evaluation Help Desk to submit a ticket.

There is a bug on the HMIS APR report which rounds the Earned Income (Latest) field, but not the Earned Income (At Entry) field. In cases where these values differ by less than a dollar, this rounding throws off the comparison of clients whose income decreased, remained the same, or equal. The Renewal Evaluation Database uses client-level data to do the calculations, and will correctly score this criteria. However, the APR report may be wrong, and thus your performance score on that criteria might appear wrong.

Recommended Action:

Confirm the income values in HMIS. Note that the APR client-level detail report contains the rounding issue, and will mask the correct value - you'll need to check the income assessment.

There is a rare bug on the HMIS APR CSV export which writes out the rows in the incorrect order.

Recommended Action:

Re-exporting the APR generally corrects this.
